Er lief seinen Weg geradeaus weiter. Gemütlich, aber doch einen Schritt vor dem anderen. Jetzt fielen ihm seine alten Märchenbücher ein. Deren wenig kinderfreundlichen Bilder ihm die Nächte versüßten. Mit den Wildtieren, die ein Bündnis gegen die Menschheit aufstellten. Pfaden, die man nicht betreten durfte oder unbedingt musste. Das Motiv des wachenden Kauzes auf seinem Unterarm war kaum noch zu sehen. Es war stockfinster. Jetzt auf Teufel-komm-raus zur Hütte zu finden, wäre ein kalkulierter Ofenschuss geworden. Er tastete sich an einem Holzbalken auf Kniehöhe entlang. Konnte nicht deuten, was es sein mochte. Inzwischen war er auch zu müde, um skeptisch oder gar wählerisch zu sein.
